The money collected will be used for:

	Renewal of web hosting and domain registration fees as they become due.
	Repair of machines and/or replacement of components to keep the computers and equipment in good working order. This includes such things as replacing failing hard drives, adding backup drives, blank CDs for archiving data, replacing the batteries in my UPS to keep the equipment safe and allowing me to continue working (up to four hours) even when the power is out - for less than $100 I can replace the batteries in the units that I've been using verses ten times that price to buy a replacement unit that would allow the same run time.
	Ensure that information and data backups are kept current, and up to date.

When the immediate needs are met, this page will display that any donations from that point will be held until they are needed.

The goal in asking for your help is two fold:

	to allow those that want to show appreciation for the help they've received a chance to help others
	to make sure that this project is not closed down due to expenses that I can't meet on my own.

WHY DONATE?

ThyroPhoenix was born out of a deep-seated drive to provide information to thyroid patients.

In the last year or two, this labor of love has become a full time job for me - yet I receive no pay of any kind. I am not receiving any government funding, nor do I accept money from drug companies, or allow advertising of any kind on the site.

While I don't expect everyone to be able to donate, if you feel this information has helped you, and if you can afford it, I ask only that you give what makes you comfortable, and that includes a message to let me know that the site has been of help to you if that is what you are able to give.

My work includes continual updates the ThyroPhoenix site, keeping up with new information, and maintaining a discussion group where people from all over the world can discuss thyroid issues. All equipment maintenance is done by me, nothing is outsourced.
